The heart atria and ventricles

Hi everyone. I just found this forum and think I'll be here alot. :) So far I've found lots of helpful info.

Here's my question now - In lab, the professor is going to stick a probe through each atria and each ventricle. I am going to have to tell her where this probe is going to come out of (ie the s.vena cava, i. vena cava, etc). I cant remember what goes with what. Can someone please help me? THANKS!!

BTW - I'm Stacy. I've been taking the nursing pre-requisit classes for what feels like a million years at the community college. I work fulltime and go to school at night and have 2 small kids. If all goes well I hope to apply to the RN program in about a year.

Hello,

Here is a website that should be pretty straightfoward with a nice picture.

Hope it helps!!

That is a great site I was gonna tell you but I think that site does a great job of it!

just a note:

in our A&P class we had to dissect a heart. If you don't get a chance to do this you can go to a butcher and BUY one (make sure it has valves) and dissect it yourself or with a friend who's in the class

This will really help and you can probe it yourself so you'll know exactly what to look for in lab! :)

good luck!

We get very limited time with the hearts - and they are so worn out already. I had no idea I could just go and buy a heart... I'm so going to do that. I need all the extra practice I can get. Thanks!!
