The alleged joke of the day...

i'm currently an lpn student plugging along with the hopes of one day becoming a peds nurse practitioner. it's one step in the beginning of an extremely long, but sooo rewarding process. i'm at a state university, and so they offer the lpn cert program and the bsn program. the lpn program is relatively new, so it's not yet become overcrowded, but the bsn program this year has had 108 applicants for 30 spots. not good numbers for a girl who has two really rough semesters. and, from the sounds of it, the competition is only getting more cut-throat.

without a doubt, i would be willing to move anywhere in the country to finish my bsn and continue with my dreams. here's my question (or joke :crying2: ).... are there any bsn programs out there without wait lists?!:uhoh21:

blessings and bright hopes for the future,

do well in your lpn program. do well as an lpn you will actually have an advantage over those going directly into the bsn program when you do apply.

as you said your lpn program at your school is new and things will continue to evolve in both programs. if you do well they will begin to deveolp a method to get get thier own lpn grads in ahead of others, (assuming you did very well in school).

most have an application process and a way of eliminating applicants. a few are still first come first serve. i beleive with the shortage of available instructors and the rush to get into schools of nursing, that most schools will eliminate the standing waiting list and will become more selective of applicants.
