So I wanted to share my story with anyone who has lost hope. Finally passed my boards on 7/9/16. Graduated November 2014. My first time I winged because I wanted to see how it is. The other 7times it was pure laziness and I figured I would be ok without studying but guess what boy was I wrong. Thinking back I've wasted lots of money. I was and A/B student never really studied in school.
After the 7th time is when I started taking things seriously and still failed. This last time I studied my butt off.
Day before exam didn't read anything. Got to testing center 40minutes early sat in car prayed and thanked God. When I got my scrap paper I wrote on there I can't do all things through Christ who strengthens me and I started. Went all the way to 265, 37 SATA, lots of EkGs, drag& drop and prioritization and delagation. Lots of maternity and Psych. I took all the assigned breaks and one unassigned break. Prayed during breaks. Was done in 5hours & 30minutes I took my time and read each question carefully. I left the test center at peace. This time didn't try the PVT until this morning still couldn't believe it so I paid the $7.95 and saw pass. To God be the glory.
previously I used Uworld-helpful, Kaplan didn't really like it, bought a SATA book that I never opened. On my last exam I mainly used the Kaplan comprehensive book and watched HURST videos. Also used a book from a review class that I took. Also reviewed the 35 page study guide. Test was nothing like any of the practice questions I saw.
My advice is don't be like me and think you can wing it. Take your time and study. Confidence is key, give yourself a pep talk. Study hard and pray, eat before your exam, sleep well and stay well hydrated.
I have tons of study materials if anyone needs anything please let me know ill be more than happy to give books whatever.
Its finally over, time to get a masters degree.
Good of luck to anyone on their nclex journey!

Good morning... I've taken the nclex 4 times and failed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been out of school for many many years..
Congratulations!! We can do anything we set our minds to.
Send me a PM with any questions you might have and I'll be more than happy to share info and books that I have. Please do not give up, you can do this. The moment you give up is when you fail. Doesn't matter how long you've been out of school. This nclex is still doable.
Thanks.
