Hi,
I have just finished my first semester in the Adult/Gerontology NP program a TWU. I was wondering if anyone can give me information on the program? A big question of mine is how did you find preceptors for clinical? I don't work with any APPs. What are the hardest classes? When should I decide to go part time if I have no husband or kids? What's the best way to prepare for the certification exam?Any help would be greatly appreciated! I feel like I am going blind through this program.

Hi, any luck finding the info you were looking for? I am also going to start the TWU FNP program spring 2020. I heard AGNP and FNP students take the same courses the first semester. Was that the case for you? If yes, how many times did you have to go in person for class or was it all online?
Thanks

Hey I'm in the AGNP program and will (hopefully) graduate by Spring 2021. I'm new to Dallas so I don't how to best network with NP's. I went to an info session with Dr. Chrosowski and she said they can place us if we cannot find a preceptor on our own. However, my fear is that I'm placed with someone who does not enjoy teaching and was required to precept, and also the fear of it being far away (which they said they cannot control and "you get what you get". So basically, I'm screwed lol. I just finished research which i heard was the hardest class but honestly she's an easy grader and it was mostly busy work, but you'll pass. I'msabout to take pharm this fall 2019 semester and I heard the summer 2019 was very rigorous. Multiple choice questions and no timer on the actual test and multiple people say they almost ran out of time. Nursing theories was a joke and advanced patho (for my semester in spring 2019) was more busy work. the exams were 8 questions options and you picked 4. Probably took me a week to write them all while working full time. but the most time consuming part is finding the research. she posts past example essays and so does research so if you follow that format, you'll be fine.
im taking pharm coming which i heard is hard soooo wish me luck! also taking advanced assessment. i hoped this helped! You're first couple semesters should be easy breezy. Just rent the books
