Hello! I was wondering if anyone has applied to the nursing program at Texas Tech here in El Paso. I just submitted my application last week. I have a prerequisite 3.8 GPA and a 4.0 science GPA. My HESI score was a 96.57 & I submitted two letters of recommendation. No experience w/ nursing, but I have worked at a veterinary clinic for over 4 years. The only thing I’m not confident about my application is my cumulative GPA on NursingCAS because of classes I took years ago that I failed that aren’t required for this program. They calculated a 2.76 GPA. I just wanted to see if anyone out there has applied as well.

Hey there! I applied to the same cycle as you. Congrats on your HESI score btw!
I have a 3.43 cumulative and a 3.56 science gpa. And I scored an overall 92% on my HESI. I wouldn't worry too much on the NursingCAS gpa calculation. When I went to go get advised, I was told that they only look at the prerequisites required to apply to their program.
I don't have much experience... I've been working as a research tech for the past 3 years. I did complete a phlebotomy course and was able to complete 100+ clinical hours. And I have a B.S. in Microbiology. I'm super nervous! ? Hopefully, with our stats, we can get in girl!
Aw that’s awesome! & thank you! I hope we do, I’m so anxious to find out ?
