TCU Fall 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Hello! I'm a post-bac and I just submitted my application for TCU's Traditional Program starting Fall 2013. Is anyone else applying too!? I've heard it's pretty tough for "transfers" to get a spot, since TCU students are admitted first. I took the HESI last Friday at TCU and did pretty well, so hopefully that helps!

I took my HESI on Friday as well. I did well. I have not heard that is is hard for transfer students to get in. I hope not since I too am a transfer student. Well good luck and let's keep in touch during this long wait process.

I hope you're right! It would be absolutely great to go to TCU. Are you applying anywhere else? Will do! And good luck to you too!

No I am just applying to TCU because I do not want to go anywhere else at this time. Are you? I am dropping my HESI scores off tomorrow and now the wait begins...

I am applying to tcus fastbacc program with around a 3.84 gpa, 98% on the math, 94% overall on english, and an 80 in anatomy. We should be hearing back in a couple weeks. I did however apply to the traditional program in the fall of 2011 and I believe there was over 174 transfer applicants for 22 spots so it was pretty competitive. Needless to say my gpa was around a 3.3 then and I didn't get accepted. I'll probably also apply to the traditional program for the fall just in case if I have time. Good luck to everyone applying!!

@lovekidsatcooks - I sent in an application for TWU, but my first choice is TCU. I mailed off my transcripts and HESI score earlier this week. Looks like they got it because my HESI requirement is checked off. Hopefully April gets here fast! :)

@aggienurse89 - Good luck! Those are some great stats! I got a 94.4% overall on the HESI. A 96% on the math section, 92% English composite, and a 100% on the A&P section. I didn't study so I'm pretty happy with my scores!

Wow 100 on the A&P that is awesome! I'm sure they would take you with those scores! I saw we are both applying to TWU. My gpa is not as good there because if your a post-bacc they don't consider as many classes. TCU is probably my second choice, but I'll go anywhere I get accepted at this point!

I feel the same way you do! Hundreds of people are applying to nursing school and it is very competitive. If I get offered a spot to any program I'm taking it! :)

I've applied to TCU, it's not one of my top choices, however, considering how expensive the school is--I almost kind of regret it. But since I applied kind of spontaneously without thinking, plus spent money to take the HESI A2 (which was considerably easier than the TEAS V, seeing as how we got use a calculator and all), I decided I'm going to go through with it. I've also signed up for Transfer Day because when I was on campus to take the HESI A2, I didn't feel as if I mixed very well with the student body. I would like to find out more about the campus and what it's like. Anyone else going? I think it's Friday, 3/8, they sent me an email sometime after I applied...and when will we find out if we got in or not? April?

Anyone hear anything yet?

I haven't. No confirmation or anything. I guess all we can do is wait or call if we get desperate. You'd think schools nowadays would have more communication with their applicants--guess not.
