I am currently a licensed/certified and working full-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Texas. I also recently finished my postmaster's certification for FNP. My program only required me to complete 300 clinical hours in family practice (I made sure I only saw adults and geriatric population for charting/documenting purposes).
I am in process of applying for licensure with Texas BON but I noticed on the "verification of completion" form that a minimum of 500 hours need to be completed to obtain licensure. The post-master's certificate program I attended took into account 300 hours from my previous masters (PNP program). I am worried Texas BON will reject my application because I did not complete those 500 hours.
The program is fully accredited, I graduated from my PNP in 2017 and post-master's in 2021.
Does anybody know if Texas BON consider the transfer hours from my previous pnp program (or the fact that I am a licensed PNP)?
Did you ever find the answer to your question regarding clinical hours? My wife has the same question and is in the process of applying for her APRN as a FNP in Texas. Thanks
