thanks for the response, that was kinda what I was figuring but I just wanted to hear it from a recent December grad. Our professors told us it probably wouldn't be for 4 weeks so that makes sense. Holidays slows everything down. How soon were you able to schedule your exam after you received your ATT? Also, how did the hospitals handle your not having the license until later due to the ATT delivery delay? They're kinda threatening all of us saying we can't start until we have it, but most programs are set to begi
Most Houston hospitals Start dates aren't until February because they want you to have passed the NCLEX prior to starting. But a lot of dallas hospitals let you start without it and you just have to have passed before your GN permit expires. So it really just depends on the hospital. But a lot want you to have passed before starting because it can be really overwhelming starting a new job and still needing to study for the NCLEX (or at least that what they've told me).
I wish i started that early. MD Anderson doesn't start until February. I can't imagine not being in school and not working for the next 2 months. That really depends on your hospital. Baylor in Dallas will let you keep working if you fail, if you fail the 2nd time you get knocked down to a patient tech but supposedly you get your nurse job back when you finally pass. Which i find extremely forgiving because I'm assuming if I fail my NCLEX before I start working theyll just hire someone else to take my spot lol.
Okie doke. Well at the end of the day all their Spring cohorts are going to be in the same boat, so they will either have to push back their date, take the GN until a more reasonable deadline for having scheduled your NCLEX is realized or deal with having no cohort at all. My guess is it wont be the latter option.
But back to my questions; do any 2013 December graduates tell me how quickly they were able to schedule their exam after receiving their ATT??

Can any december 2013 grads offer insight into how long we can expect to wait for our ATT this graduating term (Graduating dec 10; everything is in and approved just waiting for AOG and then ATT). Just trying to plan out my holiday schedule; want to take hurst review within 2 weeks of sitting for the NCLEX.
Mostly interested in what Houston area grads can add??
