temp to permenant faculty..how often?

  • Experts

I am thinking of taking a temporary FT teaching position at a BSN college. It would be my first in teaching so a big challenge for me. I am concerned about it being a temporary position. I wondered how many people start at temporary then proceed to permenant Ft faculty? Is this how most colleges obtain thier new faculty?

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated or any other tips about being new to nursing education.

thank you

From what I hear, that is basically the progression (temp/adjunct to full time). I am very new at this (started my first adjunct position last week), but from what my grad school prof's tell us, that's basically how you start out. I guess they want to get a feel of you first. But in this time of shortage, I would think the transition would come sooner rather than later.
