Hey Everyone! I'm new to the site and I need some help... Im trying to get into the LPN program at my school. Im taking the Teas V test June 26 2012. My school said that you need at least a 3.0 or higher GPA and a 70% on the TEAS to apply for the nursing program. They said that they look at the nationalized score Im confused because im not sure what that means.... is the the total score you get or is that like the national score? Thanks for all the help:)

I would say that you have to make a 70% to be considered. That's how it was when I took the TEAS; had to make a 70%. They probably meant that they look at the national average scores and that's how they come up with the 70%.

What they will be looking at is your "Total Adjusted Individual Score." That is your score based on a bunch of factors such as the percent you got right plus how you measure up against others in the program and nationally.
After you take the TEAS V, you'll see on the printout, what the national and program score is in comparision to yours.
Thank you so much for the help that makes sense:)

When I took it I got a 77% but my percentile grade was 88%, maybe that's what they look at??? Anyway, good luck to you! Just review EVERYTHING and you'll be fine :)

I got a 82.7% The 70 that they are talking about is your total adjusted score across all four parts of the test. It is a very strange test to say the least, all of the question are either really easy or difficult. There are no middle of the road questions. Whatever you do, do not talk yourself into thinking that you won't do well. If you don't already have the study guide by ATI, get it now. Spend a couple hours each day going over it. If math is not your strong suit, practice understanding fractions, decimals and ratios. I had very little Algebra on mine. Everyone will tell you that the science portion is very weird. They are right. Don't bog yourself down too much with memorization, instead focus on critical thinking and why things work they way they work. Also, when you finally get to the grammar section, take your time, and don't let any mental exhaustion take over. English grammar was one of my highest scores in the practice tests, but my lowest score on the exam. After 2 and a half hours of test taking, my brain felt like jelly when I got to the grimmer section. Breathe, don't over-complicate yourself, and you will do fine.
Thank you all for helping me and I will try my best not to worry myself:)
