are my teas scores and GPAs' good enough for CSULB??

Published

hi, I'm currently attending ECC and am applying to CSULB BSN nursing program on October, 2011 for fall 2012. I want to know what is the good enough scores for the teas and GPA's for the transfering students like me.

I just took teas V on august and i got 81.3% and my math, 93.3%. my science gpa is 3.8 and overall gpa is about 3.7 and I'm finishing off my GE credits on fall 2011 semester.

Are my teas scores and GPAs safe enough or high enough for CSULB?? i heard that they have point system and admitts people who have points between 8~10. I'm not sure what that is all about and how do you calaulate the points??:uhoh3: could someone please explain that to me and what would be my points??

lastly Im applying to CSULA and SDSU besides CSULB but are there any good or better nursing schools in CA besides them??? what schools do you guys recommend and where r u guys applying to??

1. GPA in the prerequisite science 4 points maximum courses (minimum 3.0 gpa)= 3.8

2. GPA in the prerequisite general 2 points maximum education courses (minimum 3.0 gpa)= 3.7/2=1.85

3. General Assessment Test (TEAS) 2 points maximum (minimal score 70%)= .813x2=1.626

4.TEAS Math Score 2 points maximum=.933x2=1.866

Total=3.8+1.85+1.626+1.866= 9.142

You have a pretty competitive score, but due to budget cuts, it is harder for transfers to get in. CSULB's students are receiving priority over transfers even though transfers have better stats. You could retake the TEAS and try to score in the 90%s, but other than that, there isn't much you can do now to improve your stats. I definitely think you have a good chance of getting accepted though. Good luck!
