Hey, is anyone here applying for Everett CC- or is already in the program, and can tell me what a competitive TEAS score is for the program? I asked them, and they won't tell me. They just say it depends on the applicant pool. My score is 86.

Aw darn it, I'm sorry suzw! My comment never went through on my post. I've heard mixed things from the nursing staff.. That they either "accept the top 39 TEAS scores right off the bat," or "compare GPA and if grades are equal between two applicants the TEAS score will decide who gets accepted." I took the TEAS test yesterday and I scored a 90 overall! So that given with my GPA I'd say I have a likely chance of being accepted. A friend of mine got accepted spring quarter with a cum GPA of 3.3 and a TEAS score of 74. Spring is less competitive than fall, so that kinda explains how she got in with a score less than 80. Acceptance and rejection letters for fall quarter will be sent out mid August. Hopefully we both get in!

I got an 82% on my second time around for Fall quarter and did not get accepted at first. Then by a miracle I got a phone call asking if I would want to accept a spot for the nursing program because some one dropped out! So Id say mid 80's, to be safe, is what you need to get in for sure.

I just got accepted into EVCC for Fall 2014 and I have a questions about books. Do you recommend buying or renting books for the first quarter?

Hi there! I'm starting with those of you who were accepted for EVCC Fall 2014. I'm curious if anyone has heard from folks that have been through the program how acceptable (or unacceptable) it is to use a previous edition textbook. I have Kozier's 8th edition but the are now using the 9th...Thanks for your input!
I think 8th is ok. Some things might be on different pages, but if you don't mind digging around it works fine. A few classmates had that one too and it was a minor inconvenience but no big deal.
As for the rental question, I recommend buying, especially Kozier and the physical exam one (forget what it's called). You will use them in 2nd quarter, and probably in the future.
What other books do they want you to have? I forget.
