Teas 6 experience

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Hey everyone,

i took my Teas 6 test today and since I used this site for tips when I was studying I wanted to share my experience.

Background: I have taken all of my prerequisites (except micro, taking it this fall) in the past 2 years. I got a 4.0 in all of my classes except statistics and chem which I received a 3.5 in each.

As for studying, I had 3 weeks and I used the teas secrets book my mometrix and the two online practice test from the ati website. I had a very rough time studying, and a REALLY rough time wrapping my head around the English section. Sooo many rules and soooo little time to learn/practice since I also wanted to put an effort in to studying the other sections. I finally decided to just take the online practice test A to get an idea as to wher I stand and I got an 83.3% not bad but I knew I needed to study more. With all honesty I feel like I spent three weeks jumping around the book like a maniac not knowing really where to spend my time. If I could recommend anything it would be to clear your mind and just take each section one at a time and make your way through the book, trying to understand and touch on each topic. Now that I have taken the test I know that you really need to know almost everything in that book. Good thing for most of us is that we have gotten this far and taken all of the classes so most of the info we already know.

I also took the online practice test B 4 days before my exam and got an 82.2% was not feeling so hot about that. Spent the next 4 days freaking out and studying like crazy.

As as for the actual exam I got a 90%!

breakdown:

reading-91.5% consistent with practice test

math- 90.6% thanks to LOTS of practice

science- 93.6% love science so not surprised

english - 79.2% HATE this section!

Although I feel this is a good score I also feel this test was anything but easy. I feel like I got a better score than on the practice exams because I took it more seriously and went back over each question. i read sooo many post that said the practice test were just like the real thing but with my experience I would not agree at all. The formatting was ALOT different and All of the questions seemed different and each subject seemed to focus on stuff I was not prepared for. I felt like I was doing bad the whole time and I am so unbelievably thankful I got what I did.

This post is getting super long! If you have specific questions I am more than happy to try and answer them! And good luck!

Would you be able to answer my question I posted about the practice tests? I want to know once you purchase the practice tests, are they a download that you can continue to study your wrong answers? Or do you just take the test online and then can't view it any longer after?

May I know the sites for your online practice yes?
