TEAS Exam Advice

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Hey everyone, I have advice for all of you students trying to get into Nursing school, who need to take the TEAs exam. I just took mine in August and got a really good score and this is what I did to help me prepare.

1. Make sure you study in advance, don't wait until the last minute to prepare for it, I would recommend atleast 1 month in advance and set aside about 2 hours everyday to go over the material and study.

2. I would DEFINITELY recommend either renting or purchasing the ATI TEAs exam study guide book, I rented mine for only like 30 bucks for 2 months it is a lot cheaper than buying it. This study guide book has tons of great tips in it and has questions VERY similiar to the real exam, so it prepares you for how to answer those type of questions.

3. I would also recommend buying a TEAs exam practice book like KAPLAN's, I bought one that had like 6-10 practice exams in it. The ATI study guide book only has like 2 or 3 practice exams in it. I am telling you guys PRACTICE PRACTICE, PRACTICE.

4. Like I said in #3 the more practice test questions you do the better prepared you will be, and just because you have always done good in reading comprehension or math, don't skim over that section and concentrate on the hard sections. I made that mistake because I usually always score high in reading comprehension and so I didn't study that section hardly at all and that is the section I ended up scoring the lowest score in! So like I said before give yourself plenty of time to prepare for this and study.

5. Lastly take a deep breath and stay focused, the test is not really as bad as it seems and as long as your prepared you will do fine! But like I said before make sure u study and take lots of practice exams before the big day!
