Hello, fellow educators. I have noticed over the years the importance of keeping up-to-date in the field. I want students to recognize that graduation does not mean learning is over, and to continue to seek out changes in the field. More than anything, I want them to be able to differentiate between the value of sources. For example, many do not understand the difference between wikipedia and peer-reviewed journals. I am looking for your ideas on teaching and modeling the value of evidence based practice.
Some ideas currently in use:
EBP reports on controversial topics in the practice area
Debates on controversial topics in the practice area
Differentiating between "because this is how I was taught" and "because this is what the evidence shows."
What have you found helpful in showing students to value research?

One strategy is to require clinical nursing students to bring a recent research article (from a peer-review journal, no older than 5 years) about a topic pertinent to their patient assignment that week. The student can discuss the article in post-conference, giving a brief synopsis, or alternately write-up an article summary to turn in.
