I didn't expect it but I was accepted for both FNP for USF and UT in Tampa. Tuition cost isn't really a factor as the amount of debt I have the extra wouldn't make any difference chosing private vs public.
Both schools set up clinical and provide preceptors, Unviersity of Tampa cohort size is much much smaller at 25-28 for the FNP which I am actually a fan of being able to make a closer relationship and have more intimate relationship with faculty. UT wants us on campus one day a week until clinical, which is doable and honestly provably better for me to keep me accountable vs USF entirely online and much much larger.
Both have a great local reputation but USF is more involved in research and has more national recognition but I am not sure if that's really important or will make a difference in my career path even if I ended up moving across the country at some point.
Very limited information comparing the 2, and everything I do find is out dated to when UT did not provide clinical/preceptors.
Again besides tuition cost, any pros or cons to either program from anyone would be appreciated. I keep going back and forth and my superiors at work don't seem to care either.
