Taking CNA class on the 8th

Hello This is my first time posting. Is there anyone who can give me advise on vision disability. I have that problem, also a comprehension problem and wondering if i should get out of the class? I would love to Ace the class. I have heard this class is very easy. Thanks!

Well, I did the equivalent of a CNA course my first LPN quarter and from what I remember, we learned things like bedmaking, bathing, pt. transfer, taking vitals. I can't remember if dressing changes and giving shots were part of the course or not - it was an LPN basic skills course given prior to medsurg clinicals.

If you have problems reading small numbers/letters, you will probably have problems taking vitals. I posted in large type since you did - not sure if this is as small as you can read with vision correction. If there is some accomodation (I would bet you would have to provide it) you could talk to the instructor, but most facilities have standard equipment and if you cannot use it, I am not sure what the policy is.

Your best bet would be to discuss your vision impairment with the instructor before the program starts. Usually there are physical requirements for all health care programs and they should have a policy in place.

CNA is not difficult but the work CNAs do is hard physical work. The skills are basic but you will need to practice them to get them down. My instructor was a stickler on taking BPs and she made many of us retake the skills test.
