I have recently been accepted to a nursing program in ny however my anatomy and physiology credits as well as some others are expired the admissions counselor recommended that I take them online during winter and summer. Does anyone think that It would be overbearing to retake anatomy and physiology 1 online while taking nursing 1. She said I could take credit by examination for ap1 but I'm afraid that the test is going to be way to intense and think that the online option would be easier because the exams and material are spaced out also it would be a nice refresher. I need nutrition Ap1&Ap2µ I already took the latter three it's just that they're expired. I'm thinking of taking nutrition online this winter before school starts and then taking AP1 january-march and AP2 march-may
Bump I'm really stressed out about this she recommended that I take the classes at suny Cayuga I don't want to give up my seat in the program because it's competitive
Honestly I don't even know how I got in right now -_- they only take 40 people too ... I'm stressing so much please someone help

I took A&P 2 in the summer, 4 week class and it was doable. I also took Nutrition online so doing that in the winter you should be fine. HOWEVER, I got a B in A&P 2 but my teacher was HORRIBLE ( I got an A in A&P 1 and Micro) BUT im thinking of retaking A&P 2 during the winter (4 weeks again) to boost my B to an A. so I think its totally doable, don't stress out about it...I think you will be fine with you plan of "taking nutrition online this winter before school starts and then taking AP1 january-march and AP2 march-may "
The first time I took ap 1 I got an A- I took it in summer session too. It's just that I have a job now
I still think you will be fine. I work full time, was going to school full time, married, and have a 2 year old. I've been doing fine in all my pre-reqs so I think you will be able to manage too! :) It's just about being organized and time management. YOU CAN DO IT!

I assume your actual nursing program starts in January? If I were you, I would take A&P1 in the winter before starting nursing, then A&P2 in January, and Nutrition and Micro over the summer. Getting a refresher in A&P before you start the program will benefit you far more than starting with Nutrition already completed.
Thanks for your words of encouragement and advice guys.
Anatomy and physiology isn't offered during the winter in the suny system

A friend of mine took A&P I and II through Cayuga and she did really well. I considered taking nutrition during the winter session, too, but ultimately decided against it. However, in your situation, since you need the credits sooner rather than later, I would do just as you've planned. Plenty of nursing students take A&P while taking nursing classes. Plus, you're not unfamiliar with the material even if you last too it a few years ago. Your nursing classes will reinforce what you're learning in A&P. During A&P I, you won't have started clinicals yet, so you'll be able to get an idea of the workload. You might decided not to take II during the second half of the semester, but then you could take it in the summer. Besides, you just need to get these courses done by the time you graduate from the program - although I know some programs suggest or require having certain ones done by certain levels.
Where were accepted, by the way?

How was microbiology if you don't mind me asking? I haven't been able to find much info on it. Who do you recommend taking it with and what is the class setup? Thank you!
it wasn't bad it was probably my favorite out of all of the pre-req. When you take it in class its usually divided between lab / lecture if i remember correctly its 4 credits. The online version was a little annoying basically unit exams and they send you a lab kit where you have to grow your own microbes etc in my opinion it was less invasive than the in class option. honestly i know that people have had issues with the online class and i don't know if i would've passed it if i hadn't taken an in-class version already. Online microbio is a lot of unnecessary work also. I had to take it twice because my original microbio was 5 years old and expired.
