Hi everyone!I've been an RN for about a year and a half now. I completed an adult trauma/surgical/burn ICU residency program right out of school and have been in the ICU for about 6 months now. I love critical care but am NOT a fan of the ICU setting.. I am just not happy in the environment at all and am looking for a better fit. I have also worked on adult SAC units, completed a pediatric inpatient nurse internship, and was an ER tech while going to nursing school, (which I loved!)
My question to you more experienced nurses, is what specialty might be a better fit that still is on the more critical side of nursing? I am very open minded and still love the challenge and mindset of critical care nursing, just not a fan of the ICU setting itself. I have considered Cath Lab, L&D, IR, etc... what do you all think?
Thank you!
