Surgery Center...REALLY want this job

Hi Everyone,

I am a semi-new RN with no hospital/acute care experience. I have applied to a surgery center position within a community hospital and have established an interview. I am sooo excited and want this position badly. I am extremely nervous about the interview and need some help with possible interview questions/answers. Im mostly concerned with scenario type questions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Love being a :nurse:.

The only (yes, only) question I was asked for an OR position at a large teaching university is why I wanted to work in the OR. I didn't get the job, but the nurse manager liked me so much she highly recommended me to the nurse manager in the Main OR at the university. That recommendation landed me an interview Tuesday after next.

As always, be prepared for those pesky behavioral interview questions. Good luck!!:anpom:

I wish you the best with your interview. If I were you I would dedicate a good afternoon to reading at least fifty pages of this site. That is what I did prior to my OR interview and they were impressed with how much I knew, the questions I asked and what I already understood about the unique OR dynamic. Every single thing came from the pages on this site. Everything thing is here for you, you just have to go through the pages and read the posts. There is no substitute for learning about the OR other than actually doing it.

Thank You...I have been trying to read everything on here, there sure is a lot though. Hoping I get a call for a second interview tomorrow. The first interview was just to meet and tour the place. Now I have to buy another suit since I only have 1!
