SUNY Farmingdale Nursing Program

U.S.A. New York

Published

New to the forum and have been reading around but can't find the informant that I need.

So I just recently took the National League of Nursing Pre-Admission exam for an RN program. I was required by SUNY Farmingdale State College here in New York to take the exam to get into their nursing program.

On my score report it says that I have an overall score of 127. There is a chart on the bottom containing the following: Relative Performance:

-Verbal:77

-Math:67

-Science:93

Now my questions:

1. Is that score of 127 out of 200 or is it out of 160?

2. Anyone have any clue as to what New York State University's are looking for in terms of grades on this exam for their nursing programs?

3. Is this score Average or just plain Horrible?

P.S: I might add that I'm currently a senior in high school with a current GPA of 3.5. Thank you all!

Hello! I'm not sure if you've found the answers to your questions but I am currently going into my second year at Farmingdale and came across this question. The admission test is out of 200, but it would be most helpful to look at what your overall percentile is. The test is graded yes, but how competetive your score is all depends on how well the other applicants did. Example, if you score a 130 and everyone scored a 150+ it would not be as good as if you got a 130 and everyone scored below that. On the NLN testing site where you took the test, there is a way to look at what percentile you fall in OVERALL. Although you already had the break down there for each subject area, if you fish around the site you should be able to find the overal percentiles. Also, this grade is about average if not a little higher than average from what I've heard. When I took mine last year, I received a 151, which landed me in the 99th percentile. I hope this helped!
