Suny Downstate RN to BSN Program

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello All,

I was wondering if any one will be attending the RN to BSN Program in Fall 2009. Has anyone received an acceptance letter or a letter stating that you were placed on the waiting list? I am in the process of completing 2 pre-requisites, anthropology and intro to computers and I was placed on a waiting list for the fall semester. I am a bit nervous because I have never been placed on a waiting list before and I have no idea what my chances of getting in are. If anyone is in the same situation or have already recieved an acceptance letter your feedback is appreciated.

Thanks a bunch,

Cherry

Hi Cherry,

I am hoping to apply for the Fall 2010 RN to BSN program and was hoping that you could help me with some information regarding SUNY downstate. Unfortantely, I don't think I will be apply to attend their information session this wednesday so I would really appreciate any input. The questions I have in particular are as follows:

-Do they require you to have all your prereqs done before starting their program?

-Did you have to take the National league for Nursing Mobility Profile II examinations?

-Also, if you don't mind sharing by PM or otherwise.... what GPA did you have on applying and did you already have experience in the field of nursing and what type of volunteer work did you do if any?

I think you have to take the nursing mobility exam. It counts as 27 credits toward the degree. All your pre-reqs must be done before starting the program.
