Hi Everyone!
I just joined AllNurses a few minutes ago, but have been a long-time reader/lurker. :)
I'm a registered nurse with about a year (11 months) clinical experience. Suffice to say, I'm looking at travel nursing. I've researched and spoken with a lot of different companies and also some friends and colleagues of mine who are travel nurses/who have done travel nursing.
My question is, has anyone heard anything (good or bad) about Sunbelt Staffing?
I've been speaking with a recruiter from Sunbelt for about 2 weeks and he has been EXCELLENT. But I can't seem to find out anything about the company that the website or our conversations don't provide.
I'm looking for anyone's experiences, good or bad or neutral, with this company.
Can anybody help me out? Thanks a bunch. :)

Hello
I worked for them as a traveler for a couple years. They were my first company that I went with when I started and it was a great experience. They were very nurse friendly and seemed to really be working more for their nurses than the hospitals that they contracted with. My situation was unique in that I only travelled locally...within 70 miles of my home. I did several contracts thru them and then switched to another company when they happened not to have anything close to home. The second company I worked for was a NIGHTMARE. They renewed a contract and gave me a substantial raise in my housing stipend, and then tried to make me give it back 6 weeks into my contract. I stood my ground, b/c it was in black and white in the contract, which they had signed. So, in the end, they ended my contract early. It was a mess. Anyhow, a short time later, I was talking again to a sunbelt recruiter, and told them where I wanted to work. At the time, they didn't have any contracts in that area. Well, lo and behold, they got one, basically just for me, b/c that was where I wanted to be. Everyone there has always been wonderful. And I should mention, that they gave me a FREE AAA membership after I got a flat tire at work. I really cannot say enough good about them!!! I have since taken a perm. position, but do still stay in touch with them. They really are a great bunch!! Hope this helps!

I did a contract with sunbelt. Housing was very poor (Actually had a house with no running water to start with) but they immediately put me in a Holiday Inn. They did try to move me to a cheaper place, but it was a dive soI told them I wouldn't move till they found me actual housing. The actual housing was alright, but no AC and got very hotin the summer, I ended up going to the public library to cool off.
They do not pay your utilities so you are constantly having to hook up and up hook up utilities...which is a pain.
They do not always have assignments where I wanted them.
And I found the pay to be below Industry standard.
but they were always pretty nice and easy to deal with.
I still talk to my recruiter, but I think unless they were to offer me some better pay I'll be going with other agencies.
