Currently I am taking biology, a writing class, psychology and human growth. ALL of them I find generally easy (making high A's) except for biology. While I understand the basic concepts it's so much terminology I don't use normally and to top it off it's an 8 week course so it was pretty condensed. I am preparing to take my final next week and the study sheet she gave us is literally 15 chapters with every module underneath. I understood them as we went through it but I am having a hard time retaining all of this information. I made flashcards too. Any help with studying ALOT of information would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest studying what is on the power points. These early bio classes are usually pretty straight forward and the power points have most, if not all the information you need. This has been my experience with the early bio classes. Best of luck to you!
Thank You :)

It's been said here so many times, but studying a little bit every day with bio has REALLY helped me. I felt really overwhelmed with certain topics that were difficult for me, but found that studying a bit every day took the pressure off. I can't "cram" with any of these science classes like I could with my business degree. I just don't retain it.
You need to find what works for you. Do flashcards REALLY help you? I personally don't use them because I would rather read information repetitively in a paragraph form (condensed from a PPT). I used to try and make them but found the time I spent making them would have been better used studying using different methods.
Thankfully, my prof gives out exam study guides. Although it's WAY more info than we need, it helps me stay on top of everything since he gives them to us early. I read a chapter and answer his questions. I do this all in a word document. Once the document is complete, I print it out and bring it with me EVERYWHERE. Sometimes I even google extra information and pen it in. I don't print on the back so I have space to re draw diagrams and processes.
I tend to dislike flashcards because the info on them is almost not enough. I do better when I write out a complete sentence that strings together several ideas/definitions. I don't do so well studying definitions on their own and then trying to piece the ideas together, if that makes any sense.
For example (this is very simplified, but to show you what I mean):
Cancer is a disease of the cell cycle. An individual with a malignant tumor is said to have cancer.
I guess I COULD put that on a flashcard, but can you see how I attached two (or three) definitions in one sentence? Once I KNOW that sentence, I can kind of break down more easily what each part of it means. OK, malignant tumor person has cancer. Malignant must be disruptive to normal bodily function. Get it?
