BS-MS Dual degree program advice

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

Nursing student here from NYU. They are offering a BS/MS Dual degree program (application is open for 2 weeks and can only apply to 1/9 programs), and if accepted, they hold the spot for you up to 2 years (and they say you must have at least 1 year of experience before starting). I was thinking of applying to either the Adult Gerontology Acute Care program or the pediatric NP program, but I am leaning more toward the PNP. I wanted to ask your advice--do you think it's worth it to apply now and within 2 years start the program if offered admission, or better to wait and get more than 1-1.5 years experience before starting a master's program?

Also, unrelated question; but does anyone have a name of someone who teaches/a place where they have done a phlebotomy course that is needed/ACLS/PALS course in the NYC area that is reasonably priced? TIA!

Go ahead and apply now! If you don't get in, you can apply again next year!
