Student Nurse needs advice good/bad about Military Nursing.

Hello all, I'm currently in my 2nd semester of a 4 semester ADN program and I'm trying to put some info together regarding Military Nursing and whether it's a fit for me. I know I would have to get my BSN and that's something I should be able to do easily once I finish the ADN because I already have a BBA-Finance.

Here's my situation, I'm 35 and will be 36 when I graduate with ADN. I should be 37 when I complete my BSN. I have a young family with 4 daughters, 3 year old and 2 year old triplets. My wife is a school teacher who has been very supportive of me going back to become a Nurse. My family is my life. I feel that joining the military or military reserve would be an excellent option to give my family the best life possible when it comes to the benefits it offers as well as my chance to treat and serve my country.

What I'm trying to find out is which branch and whether the Reserve or Active is best for me. I see a lot of positives but I'm concerned about whether it's the right move as I want to be an active part of their lives and whether I'll be away from them too much an make things even harder on my wife. Our lives has been crazy but wonderful since we had our bundles of joy and I want to give them everything I can. Maybe working for the VA is the best option, I don't know. I just need information and lots of it so my wife and I can make the best decision possible.

I've been looking at the Navy at this point but I'm open to hearing about all branches. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and opinions and sorry for any misspellings as I'm typing on my iPhone.
