Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I'll try to keep it short and to the point.

I applied to my school's (laguardia comm. college, CUNY) nursing program in the Spring semester for entrance into the Fall. Needless to say, they lost and never received my application and it is too late to do anything about it. Right now I have a 2.9 cumulative, but have all A- in my sciences except Chemistry where I received a C-. So I am now weighing my options.

My plan originally was to enter the Nursing program in the Fall (I have a 3.7 GPA towards my school's nursing program), and finish up my last three remaining pre reqs which are English 102, Microbio, and Developmental Psych during the 6 week semesters (summer and winter).

But, now because of this situation, I am now considering just taking those last three pre reqs during the Fall 2016 semester and transfer out to a 4 year in the Spring semester and go straight for a BSN.

Some colleges I am considering are LIU-Brooklyn, Molloy, NYIT, York College, Adelphi, or anywhere that I have a good chance of getting accepted. Tuition is a factor, but if it comes down to it I'm willing to pay. I'm 23 years old and just want to start a nursing program already.

If anyone can suggest some advice and maybe point me in the right direction or offer some insight, please feel free. I don't know what the transferring process is like, or what credits transfer or if it's even worth it to take those pre reqs if the schools won't accept them when I transfer.

I forgot to mention, I took the TEAS V last October, and got a 78 overall.
