Just looking for some advise. I'm a male almost 40 and strongly considering going back to school to become an rn. I believe it is something I would enjoy and do well at. My concerns are of course my age, student loans and I will continue to work full time during school. I am in bad need of a career change and this is where I am looking. Any advise?

If you have concerns is there any way you could become a CNA or something allied and work part time to get your foot in the door and so you won't be left with no experience in healthcare? At least you would be exposed to the healthcare field.
I know plenty of CNA's over 50 and even 60 and it is never too late.
I have considered that and it is a possibility. Because of my current job the Saturday clinical would not be possible. I would be taking all of my generals first then moving on to the cna and nursing program, assuming I even get into the program. My girlfriend is an rn and I talk to her a lot about her job, just looking for other opinions, thank you!
Not sure if your state uses Medication Aides, but that is something to consider. Most states don't require a person to be a 'CNA' first, but most facilities do. You basically pass the meds. CNA is doing the dirty work, but a medication aide is expected to help out when necessary and great to help a CNA when one was a cna once, or in need. It is awesome. There are all ages working in a nursing home, R.N. hospital or whatever. In the end, all facilities care about is if the patients don't fall out of the hoyer, choke on their meds, etc., rather than the age of someone patiently assisting a patient to safety, passing meds.
