i was wondering what other nurses in management roles do to reduce stress. it's evaluation time and my first time doing them. this year they started on the computer. we do everyone's in jan. my fellow clinical team manager is leaving the end of next week and i need to pick up the slack until they replace her. and of course it's extremely busy. so what do you do to reduce the stress? i could use some helpful suggestions.please!!

That's a good question DEB52. I've been a nurse about as long as you have and I'm still trying to find the answer to that. I find that I worry so much about every little thing that my mind seems occupied by work much more than it should be - to the point of waking up at night thinking about things.

We also did evalustions on computer for the first time this past year. What I did was send them to staff to review, and then have them make an appointment to see me to go over them. Some chose not to and just signed their's. I guess evaluation time is no time for surprises anyway.

For relaxation I read, play with my dachsund, entertain family etc. But if I could find a way to decrease stress, I would be a happy camper. Good luck to you.
