any suggestions. i am trying to turn my life around and would like to pursue being an stna but i am not quite sure how to get started?

Often community colleges that have nursing programs offer a CNA course. Some long term care facilities will also train CNA's. You could try doing a Google search of your area, or visit the CNA or Ohio forums here on allnurses. If all that fails to find you a program in your area, look in your local newspaper to find out who is hiring CNA's, and just call them and ask them where to find a class.

Ohio Department of Health has a complete list of schools that are licensed to teach that program. Nursing schools usually have waiting periods but there are standalone scchools teaching that class in preparation for nursing schools. One of them is Uplift Learnign Center. There are others like MyTees. But check with ODH first.

Hope that helps
