I was wondering if I should get a case for my Stethoscope? Its a hard cover case from Medisave.com. The stethoscope I'm ordering is a Littmann Classic II, in pink. :) Are the cases really necessary? Or not really? How else would I transport it if I didn't have one? Thanks guys!

I never had a case for mine-- one more thing to carry around, no thanks.
You transport it in your backpack or pocketbook or whatever you carry all the rest of your stuff in.

I've never had one for mine. You transport it in the bag you bring to clinical with you and, when you're there, wear it around your neck. This sounds like a colossal waste of money to me.

If you really want a case to protect it in your backpack, there are some cute cloth ones that you can buy for $10-15 I think. It probably wouldn't be as bulky as a hard case.

I don't have a case. But in nursing school I stashed mine in a bag with a pen and stained it with blue ink. So now, I try to keep it stored separately from my pens. I had the light pink littman in breast cancer awareness pink.

I agree, no need. I just throw it in my bag with all of my nursing stuff.

I didn't know cases for stethoscopes even existed...
I was expecting this thread to be about a "case" in which a stethoscope played a role in spreading infection or something :)

I don't use a case, I just put it in my pocket or around my neck, and at home I put it in a little box with all of my other clinical supplies.

I suspect cases like this are made with the hopes that people will buy them as gifts, or newbies will buy them thinking them useful.....and in actuality are completely unnecessary.
Can't say I've ever known ANYONE who ever said "I wish I had a case" or "if only I had a case, my scope wouldn't have broken".....because they don't.

My case is my neck. They also have lab coats with a pocket designed to hold an IPad which is where I store my stethoscope sometimes.
LOL! You're funny

I know it's completely unnecessary but I am thinking about whipping up something like this just for pure convenience....that way everything is in one place and I can toss it in my bag when I need. I like to have everything organized and in it's place.....it's a little bit of peace in the chaos that is my life lol
