Steps for equivalency application for nclex-pn

Yeah, I am one of those who have gotten the terrible news of being denied the eligibility to sit for the nclex RN exam cause of the concurrency issue. So, like most of you... I am now looking into taking the NCLEX-PN exam.(And also, unsure of how to proceed) The application process can get kind of confusing if like me, you are new to the art of applying for anything haha... and the very formal language used in the instructions on the forms. Another reason its confusing is some of the required documents here are... not really available for us, or we've never heard of it. Anyway, enough intro.. lets get down to business. I want to clarify step by step what I'm going to do... and the things I'm not sure about.

STEP 1.

the only thing i have to comment on here is about the postcard. since I downloaded it off the net... i dont need this one. (im mentioning it cause someone in another thread was asking about this.) everything else is accessible.

STEP 2.

1.) METHOD 3. Cause I'm applying for equivalency since I have a bsn degree. So this is the method to use. Not 2... but 3.

2.) Record of Nursing program and official transcript- I'm going to send the form to my school, have them fill it out... and then send it back to me... you probably should attach a personal letter telling them what you need them to do.. along with the instructions. just to be doubly sure they get it. LOL or you could just send the intructions. but you need original transcripts, and the sealed envelope of record of nursing program thingy. ANOTHER OPTION IS TO CONTACT THE CABON, if you have applied for nclex-rn... AND HAVE THEM FORWARD THESE DOCUMENTS TO BVNPT.

3.) record of nursing experience- now with this, I am not sure. I am thinking of not sending this form to the BVNPT. since, i dont have employment experience. plus it says here at the end of intructions for method 3 "APPLICANTS WITH FORMAL NURSING EDUCATION MAY SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS FOR EVALUATION FOR POSSIBLE CREDIT IN LIEU OF PAID BEDSIDE NURSING EXPERIENCE. THE TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE BOARD DIRECTLY FROM THE SCHOOL." so, you make another request for an original copy of your transcript to be sent by your school to bvnpt? or just use the official transcript that you're going to get along with the record of nursing program on number 2?

4.) employment verification-nursing experience- same reason as number 3.

5.) proof of theory hours of pharmacology-this one im not entirely sure of what to do with either. haha! but it says here they can just verify it on the record of nursing program you're going to submit... or from the course completion with your grade. since i havent taken the lvn course. i'm going with the first option.

It usually takes 4-6 weeks to process the application.. but since everyone who has been denied is applying for lvn exam, it might take longer...
