Hello,
I am currently in an accelerated nursing program at KSU. I graduate in December of this year and I'm beginning to do some research on what the various hospitals pay to new grads. I have read several discussions listing rates for many of the Atlanta area hospitals, however these discussions are from 2006 and i was wondering if anyone had updated rates since them. I'm assuming the pay would go up because the shortage is increasing. Anywhoo, if anyone knows the rates for CHOA, Northside, Wellstar, and any other hospitals in the Atlanta area for a new grad, I would be so appreciative. Thanks

Hi!
I just interviewed at KSU this week and am waiting to see if I've been accepted to the accelerated nursing program. What do you think of it so far? Are you enjoying it? Would you recommend it? What's the difficulty level? Anything information you could give me would be much appreciated.
I hope you get an answer to the question in your post! (I'd like to know too.)
The first semester of the program is pretty easy. Holistic is really boring and your not sure what to study because it's not very concrete. I made all A's last semester, but I also took patho with my pre-reqs. Assessment is the hardest course, but as long as you read the book and attend class, you should do fine.
I'm in my second semester now and it is extremely difficult. From what I've heard, it is the hardest semester in the program. Don't let the first semester fool you into thinking its easy, its a big wake up call second semester. Adult Health is alot of information and the tests are very difficult. You'll take pharm online, it's alot of work because of the postings, but it's an easy A. You won't feel like you've learned anythinig though. Mental Health is pretty easy, just attend class and study the powerpoints for exams. Ethics is a bunch of busy work. You'll have 3 papers and 3 presentations, it's a big waste of time to me, but it's an easy A. I've managed to maintain all A's this semester as well, but you have to spend alot of time studying. Alot of people say after second semester, the rest of the program is a breeze. So if you just finished interviewing, that means your trying for the fall semester accelerated program in Rome? That's the program I'm in. The drive really sucks, but it's a small group of about 25 students and we are all very close and you get more personalized attention from the instructors. Good luck, and let me know how everything turns out.
