Starting pay for RNs in New Orleans area??

Published

Hello, allnurses!!!! I'm a nursing student starting CSN this August, and I was curious about the starting pay for new ADNs in the NOLA and surrounding areas. I've heard about some increased pay rates within the last year, so I'm just trying to increase my excitement about being a nurse! I've gone on salary.com, but they just give average amounts; I want to know from actual nurses working in the area.

Also, what differentials, if any, are common in this area?

Also in regards to pay, I've been reading a lot about the difference between the pay for ADNs and BSNs and how there isn't much of a difference at all--in some places they are paid the same. Is this true in the New Orleans area?

Just 35 days, 22 hours, and 35 minutes left until I start CSN!!!:balloons:

Hi

Can't speak for everyone, but I know Children's starts at $23/hr and I think the other hospitals are around that..maybe $20-23. Plus night or weekend diffs which are usually about 3 or 4 dollars extra an hour...congrats on nursing school, its an experience
