I am brand new to the area, and have no clue what the starting pay/salary is for RN's. I have a couple years experience as a nurse, and just wanted to get an idea of how much I might expect to be making. I am interested in a hospital or clinic. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

I am a new nurse in Stevens Point, but also applied for jobs in Wausau and Marshfield as well. I work in the hospital setting and starting pay is usually right around $21/hour. Keep in mind that I am a new grad. Good luck and keep us posted. It is a beautiful area to live!
Thanks again for your reply. I was wondering if you had any advice on where to apply? I've tried Ministry Health, Aspirus, and Marshfield Clinic.
Those are the main places in the area if you are looking at acute care. Ministry (where I work:-) has St. Clare's in Weston (Wausau) and is brand new and has state of the art equipment and is a beautiful facility. St. Michael's is in Stevens Point and is the only hospital in town. St. Joseph's in Marshfield is very well known in the area and now is considered a "children's hospital" and is a level 2 hospital. Aspirus in Wausau was once known as the Wausau Hospital and used to be the only one in town. Now with St. Clare's it's obviously not. They also have an ambulatory surgery center in Stevens Point and are trying to branch out a bit I think to give Ministry some competition. Marshfield Clinic has many different locations throughout the area if you are looking at the clinic setting. Like I said before, pay is pretty much the same....I applied for positions at all 3 when graduating and there was maybe a .20 difference. I am very happy with my choice, it just depends on what size city you are looking at. Let me know if you have any more questions. I'd be happy to answer them:)
Depending on where you are living, there is also Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, which is about 15 miles from Stevens Point. Are you mainly looking for acute care or is LTC an option?
