Starting Nursing School Pregnant

Hello everyone!

I received my acceptance to nursing school for spring 2016 and I am very excited. I am also unexpectedly pregnant, but my husband and I are also very excited about that as well.

When I start nursing school in January I will be around 5 months pregnant. Finals week ends May 19th, and my due date is May 21. So cutting it super close to the end of the semester. Of course there is a chance of going into labor early, and I will have to make accommodations with my professors just in case this happens.

Ideally I give birth right after finals, have the whole summer off with my baby, and then return in late august. I have daycare plans already set, both my mother and mother-in-law are going to split the childcare during the week, and I have aunts on duty as backup care.

I am just wondering if any of you have any words of wisdom, advice, or tips on being pregnant in nursing school/having a small baby in school. I know it won't be easy, but I am confident that I can make this work. I am super nervous though about the whole situation and would love to hear your stories! Thank you so much :)

Is there anyway to postpone your start date? Not saying this is impossible but it will be extremely difficult. I would rather start fresh in the fall and get plans together than risk finals.

Typically the school does not do deferments, although I'm not sure if they would make an exception for me. Im hoping I can just take my finals early.
