How much does an ADN without any experience make per hour in connecticut? I understand location and the place you work has an impact on this but I would just like to get a rough idea.

Specializes in Rehab, critical care.

Apparently $26 an hour back in 2008 as a new grad in ICU. Don't know what the adjustment for inflation would be now as I don't live there, but that seems about right. Well, in my opinion, ICU nurses should make more than other areas in the hospital that are lower stress, but it seems that every nurse in the hospital makes the same regardless of position (and I'm not saying we should make more than m/s nurses, so no battles need to be started lol; I know m/s nurses earn every dime and should make no less than ICU or ER nurses). I make a comfortable living, and I have good management, so I don't really care, but I guess I don't really understand why physicians in more difficult specialty areas make more, but nurses don't? The only differential is with nurses in physician practice; they make less than hospital nurses, but I don't think there's a difference in what nurses make from unit to unit. I don't discuss what I make with nurses in my hospital or other hospitals, so maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like postings on job sites all have the same minimum starting salary from unit to unit (and I had looked in a few different states back when I was looking for a job). Anyway, I digress.... lol

Best of luck to you! Hopefully someone can give you a current answer :).
