Starting Drexel ACE program in the Fall

Hi all!

I found some old threads on the subject but nothing recent and was wondering if anyone out there is currently IN the program or planning on going next Fall as well (Fall 09)? I'm thrilled to have been accepted but am terrified by the little I've read by those who have been through it. I am wondering what the toughest aspects are, where most ACE students live, do you actually sleep, what's a typical day, etc. I'd love to hear any details anyone is willing to share. I have 2 dogs that I'll be moving there with - are they going to hate me/run away?

Any comments or info would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Hi! I'm currently in the ACE program (I graduate in march...hopefully!). when they say that you have to give up your life for a year, that is no joke. you have a full schedule of classes along with clinicals (it changes every quarter). I know a lot of people live in the dorms, and alot of people commute.

The program is doable...but it is the hardest thing i have ever done. To put it in perspective: my class started with about 105 students. Currently, in the 3rd quarter, we have about 40 students left of the original 105. crazy, right?

but good luck!! you can do it! it will be well worth it..hope this helps!

Ugh, that's not very encouraging...

I am a first quarter ACE student, so it's one and half month down, and 9 and half to go...I know several of my classmates have dropped or will begin again with the spring group for various reasons. They reiterate again and again, it's not impossible.

Some people lives in dorms, most commute is what I understand to be. But if you have two dogs, you may want to check with the school to see if you can have the animals in the dorms.

In your first quarter, your dogs probably won't hate you or run away...after that, I don't know what to tell you.

Good luck,
