starting crna school in October...need your opinions

Published

Hi there,

I am gearing up to start crna school in florida this October. I am obviously at the tip of the ice berg with my knowledge. However, I do have some questions i was hoping some of you could answer based on your own experience.

I am curious as to what some of you have felt about rural crna work vs big city. Also, I would love to know more about crna's that are self employed and how that works.

I hope to work for myself after i get some experience. I really am interested in the business side of becoming a crna as well as the healthcare side (contracts, insurance, billing, marketing) that way i can have more autonomy and really understand what I am bringing to the table. I have always enjoyed working for myself and love working with people.

I am interested to hear about your experiences and what has guided you down various careers paths in this field.

My goal would be to get my degree then head back to Colorado (rural or midsized town) and if that is not available then oregon, washington, montana...thoughts on these areas??

thank you so much for your time!
