Stafford loans question...

Ok, I was just awarded a stafford loan and I have never taken one out before. In the Spring of 08 my plan is to get my CNA cert and work part time while attending full time to school for pre reqs for nursing. I have an F on my transcript for Tx Politics. This was due to the fact that I was unable to finish my final b/c of a death in the family. I was supposed to go and finish, but I never did, so I ended up with an F. Is this going to cause a problem with my loans? It has been since 2001 and my GPA is 2.95. Will I have anything to worry about? Also I wanted to find out how this will work for nursing school. I am getting loans for school per semester. The cost of nursing school out of district is around 10,000 to 15,000. Will they supply enough for my nursing school?
