Hello,

Our Intensive Care Unit is expanding to 4 pods of 10 beds. Patients are a mix of cardio thoracics, ecmo, trauma, neurosurgical, and respiratory. Currently we have one shift co-ordinator who manages the patient and staffing flow and 1 access nurse (float or runner) to every 4 patients. I would love to hear how other units are staffed? do you make each pod a speciality eg: cardiac pod 1, HDU pod 2?? do you have more than one shift coordinator? thanks in advance...……….
