1st year SRNA help

Published

Hello,

I'm a first year SRNA finishing up my first week of clinicals where four of us were sent to one site. I can't help but compare myself to my classmates that I'm with and would like some tips on technique. For my mask ventilating I don't get a good seal unless there a really easy airway- I am starting with a two hand jaw thrust and then switching to one hand which I did today and that seemed better but my hands are small so I've been struggling. As for intubations I'm not as pushy as my classmates so they've been mostly giving me the MAC cases so I've had about 5 intubation attempts and all 5 of them have botched.... I'm thinking I'm not being as aggressive as I need to be with putting the laryngoscope in, keeping my wing up and pushing up but my view is awful everytime and I'm getting frustrated and disheartened... would love to hear any tips, and how long it took others to consistently get a good seal mask ventilating and a better view with DL with a mac blade during intubations... thank you in advance🥹
