Hi,
So I've been studying the TEAS exan since Oct 31st and frankly I'm getting discouraged. I registered for my TEAS V on Dec 19 so I made two months to study.
Frankly, I feel discouraged. I've purschased the ATI Study Manual, Secrets of the TEAS V, and the McgrawHill TEAS V practice tests.
I've been taking notes and such but I am not getting the material. very section I made over 5+ mistakes on English and many on other subjects. As time goes near I fear I will not be prepared. Day and Night I'm studying.
I have all this time, I just don't know how to efficiently study I guess. I'm applying for CSULA, CSUEB,SFSU, SJSU,CSUSAC, LAPC, LAVC.
My gpa is around 3.4. I already took the teas once and thiis my first and final shot at getting a higher score.
Any encouragement or advice?

Do not overload yourself and defintely take a day out of the week to just destress yourself and relax. Believe in yourself and your goals. As long as you put effort and action towards what you want to do and where you want to be with your whole heart, you will end up there eventually! Honestly, two months is quite a long time for me to be stressing and studying for a test so I think you should set time aside to just breathe, do activities you enjoy and be grateful for other things in your life. That has nothing to do with the Teas but it will decrease your worries for the time being. I think constantly practicing by taking practice tests and then go over all the questions you miss including reviewing the specific topics you missed in each section really helps a lot too. I studied a lot for mine too so I know it can be draining especially near the end, I felt so frustrated with myself because I was getting worse scores with each practice test. And my anxiety and stress actually broke me out in hives! At that point, I just shut the books and went and hung out with my boyfriend instead. Didn't even look at the study material up till test day and I ended up passing with pretty good score. Just believe that what you are doing right now is actually helping! It might not show in the practice exams and you may feel frustrated because you don't see the results right away, but in your mind, you are unconsciously learning. Continue to study but have faith that things will work out because it will. Good luck :)

Do not lose hope! If you want it, you will get it! Study harder and do not stress your self too much. On which subject are you having problem with?

I purchased both the Secrets of the TEAS and the ATI Study Manual, and found the ATI book to be MUCH more helpful and accurate to what the test would be like.
So here's my advice, based on my study habits (I got over 90). They may not work well for you since we're all different, but hope they will help.
1) Take practice test from the Secrets of the TEAS book, without the time restriction. (Don't want to prematurely use the practice tests from the ATI book.) Correct it, going over every single answer you got right or wrong.
2) What section did you get the lowest % score on the practice test? (I mean major section like math or science.) Study just that section from the ATI book until you've gone over everything they have to say, looked up videos to clarify, and done a little memorization to really know it, etc.
3) Then take a practice test from the ATI book, without the time restriction like before, and going over every answer you got right or wrong. Then repeat step #2 on whatever subject was lowest this time.
4) Then if you feel more confident about the TEAS overall, go ahead and take your second practice test from the ATI book, with the time restriction this time. Study your weakest subject again up until a couple days before the test, then take a day off and rest. : )
Really hope that helps!
I did purchase both the ATI testing book and the Secret of the TEAS mometrix one and I also purhase the Mcgraw Hill 5 practice tests. I did terrible on all subjects honestly. xO expecially the science portion. I'm already thinking of dropping CSULA and SFSU (SFSU is super expensive for me and my last two options) and I'm applying the RN program at LA County RN program.
It is not the time constraint I'm worried about. It's getting the questions correctly is my problem.
