Hello everyone - I just applied to the RN - BSN FT Program for the spring 2018.
I am an online leaner and will be doing 2 - 3 classes depending on the how much is required of the classes especially the non NUR classes.
I waiting for my transcripts to be evaluated; I have a 3.4 GPA for my ADN.
I am currently located in MA, I wouldn't mind getting to know some people who are also preparing for the Jan 16th start date.

You're getting in, don't worry. UTA has a huge program and accepts anyone with a halfway decent GPA. They are also really awesome about taking transfer credits. I just graduated from the program. They didn't turn down any of my transfer courses. I had a 3.2 GPA as an ADN and hadn't been in school for 6 years when I applied.
The program is really organized. I didn't think I would be successful in an online program and I was totally wrong. They may have hundreds of students in one class, but they break you up into groups of around 30 and each group has a "coach" like a TA who grades your papers and is your first point of contact. I had problems with one class and emailed my coach, the next day she called me and spent an hour on the phone answering all my questions.
There is a lot of paper writing and "the APA the easy way" will be your bible. You also have to do discussion boards. Each class is 5 weeks but you take one class at a time. This is nice because you get to focus on one class at a time, it sucks because there is no point in going part time because you still get your ass kicked during each class. Going part time just gives you a longer break between classes.
Expect a discussion board and a significant assignment each week. The staff is nothing like your ADN program. You really feel like they want you to succeed and will offer a lot of support as long as you don't ask at the last minute.
It is really a great program and I ended up applying for their grad school when I didn't even want to get my BSN (my boss made me). Learn to use the school library and message the librarians if you have any problems. They are amazing helping you find resources. Do not try to find articles outside the school library. Once you learn to use the library it is easier anyway (your first instinct is to use google but it doesn't give you the right information).
The only other advice I can give you is you can get out of one of your nursing electives if you show them you are certified (CPN, CCRN...) and if you have trouble with math take Technical Math instead of Algebra. It is a more applied class that makes more sense to nurses and it satisfies your Algebra requirement. They make you take an additional literature class and it is more demanding than you are used to. So take british or american literature, world literature is hell. Take Stats early if you want to take it online. If the online course isn't for you, you can take it at a CC and transfer it in. I waited too long to take it and once you are too close to graduating they won't let you transfer credits. I was forced to take it online and had to get a tutor (but to be fair I'm dyslexic and math is my achilles heel).
Good luck and enjoy, I was really jaded when I started the program and in the end really enjoyed it.
Hope this helps.
