Specialty certification-How has it helped your career?

Hi All,

I'm strongly considering shelling out the $$ and studying to become an RNC in my field. I was wondering how many of you are certified in your field and what the advantages are? This is really a gen'l question for all, but I'd be particularly interested in hearing from all you certified psych nurses out there, since that will be my specialty.

In my current job I won't make any more $$, but I want to go to grad school and become a psych CNS. This seems like the next logical step. My unit manager is an RNC, so I'll be asking her too, but I'd like to hear any input that you might have
