Spartanburg Community College - Pre requisites question

U.S.A. South Carolina

Published

Hi, I am new to this website. I am interested in getting into the ADN program at SCC in 2011. Can anyone help me with the following questions.

How long does it take to complete the pre-requisites ?

I work part-time, can I take these classes in the afternoon or evening hours?

Thanks in advance

I am starting my prerequirsities this January. I will be a SAHM and a student at the same time. It is going to take me about a year and a half to finish them. I think it all depends on your placement. I have been out of school for 10 years and will have to start with taking Math 101, which kept me from being able to take the Biology class.

They have many classes both during the day and night. You need to apply soon though, many classes were getting filled 2 weeks ago!

I hope that helps! Goodluck to you!

Congratulations on your decision to pursue a career in Nursing. Even though the prerequisite courses are challenging, they can be completed in an two regular semesters and an entire summer term, assuming that you place into Math 110 and English 101.

Admission to the ADN program is limited, and students who earn the most points on the weighted admission score sheet are given seats in the upcoming class. In your post, you mentioned that you were seeking admission in 2011. Applications for Fall 2011 are due before the end of March (the Nursing Department will list the exact due date in February). How many prerequisites have you completed so far? There is no magic number when it comes to the points required for admission, and the range of applicant scores varies widely. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to send a private message.

Kind Regards,

MRB
