Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE)- Sharing Some Information about the CRNA Program

Hi there folks,

I want to put some information out here about how Southern Illinois Univeristy Edwardsville works, because I've graduated from it and would have liked to know it. This is things I've learned and things my buddies who are still in the program have told me.

3 year program, cohort start class mid-May every year. You get two weeks off between terms, of which there are three (Spring, Summer, fall). Winter break is about a month-ish. First year is in-person classes 2 days a week. People often commute if drivable, rent if not. At the end of your first year, you take a 2 week bootcamp, then you start clinicals. You are in clinicals but attend class on Mondays or if you are over 4 hours away you zoom in.

Clinicals: you can get sent 4 hrs in any direction.

About the town: Edwardsville is very safe and affordable, to my opinion (I moved there from a big city and moved away when I graduated). Lots of places to eat, no real shady parts, you'll probably be cool wherever you rent. Glen Carbon is fine, Maryville is fine, Collinsville gets a bit wierd.

The school: beautiful, affordable, high-quality. Would absolutely recommend. Program is stressful, very worth it. Study your *** off, you'll make it.

Good luck.

How many days/weeks did you wait to get the acceptance letter from the date you got interviewed? I got interviewed last July 12. It's been two weeks already.
