Some Inspiration(Inspirational Moments)

Published

Hello everyone,

I am currently a nursing student doing an ADN program at Georgia Perimeter. I started Med-surg this summer and I just became so stressed out. I was not myself. I dropped the class because my test grades were lower that ever. I am now finding myself wondering is it worth all of this. Is nursing for me. My class started out with about 75 people and there are 35 left. I do not know if it is just Georgia Perimeters program that is so hard or is it all nursing schools like this. I am scared to switch majors because I have dedicated all this time and hard work to this. I have plenty of time to figure it out granted the next time Med-Surg is offered is next spring. I was hoping that some of you can share how you new that nursing was for you? Has the hard work paid off? What did you do when things were not looking to good in nursing school?

Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone,

What did you do when things were not looking to good in nursing school?

Thanks in advance!

Closed my eyes and kept going! Nursing school can be stressful and

a roller coaster of emotion. You have lots of demands -your patients,

instructors (clinical) , instructors (classes), test, and more tests.

If you have family commitments add that in too!

Many programs are very challenging and todays nursing job environment

is very challenging.

I found that to stay balanced I needed to stay with activities that

gave me a break. I took dance classes on weekends (with my friend

also a nursing student).

Only you can decide if nursing is right for you. If you feel it is not

there are many allied health fields that are interesting as well.

Wishing you the very best! Most things worth pursuing take

perserverence!:balloons:
