Hey all,
I am in my final semester in nursing school, graduating with a BSN in December...was getting all the documents ready so that I can register for the NCLEX when I see that a sociology or anthropology course is required to be eligible...
I have never taken a sociology or an anthropology course. They were not required by my school, nor my nursing program.
Does anyone know how strict the CA BON is about this requirement?? I have taken loads of "cultural" related courses that apparently satisfied the social studies/humanities requirements for my university (I go to a CSU in California) and the prereqs for my nursing program. Has anyone else found themselves in this situation and been allowed to take the NCLEX??
I don't know how I apparently slipped through the holes or why nobody at my school notified me that I need this.. I am going to be extrememly unhappy if I have to pay for another class after I've already graduated and wait until the summer to take the nclex....................

Have you found any online courses?
I haven't spent much time searching yet (let me know if you find anything!). Waiting to hear back from my adviser to see what she thinks....
From the little bit of research I did, though, it seems like the fastest/cheapest way to meet this requirement would be to register at a community college that accepts a CLEP exam score for sociology credit....... problem is finding one in my area :/
Ps. guessing by your username that I know you Makes me wonder if there are others in our program in the same boat.....
