skirts

I always wear scrubs, and that i just for comfort and ease. My comfort and ease that is.

I wear scrubs I personally do not like to wear skirts and or dresses ever!

We do have a nurse that wears skirts r/t her religion.

I have to admit, I think dresses/skirts look strange and inappropriate these days. When I think of all the running, bending, squatting, etc. one does at work, a dress seems WRONG!

I agree, would never wear one. But where I used to live there were a lot of Mennonites who wore skirts (and little mesh bonnet-type thingys), and here there is one pentacostal type nurse who wears skirts all the time. I sure couldn't do it!

There is one girl in my nursing class who for religious reasons always wears skirts. I know of two nurses at my hospital who also always wear skirts. One in her late 40s the other early 60s. I assume both do so for religious reasons, but I have never asked either of them.

I wear skirts/dresses in my personal and professional lives. I personally find them comfortable. When hemlines are appropriate there is no modesty issue. I know a few other nurses that do for the same reasons.

i have a few 'scrub' dresses that i made a few yrs ago.

they're 1-piece wraparounds that snap on the inside and outside of waist.

very cute, even more comfortable.

i feel freer, less restricted in a dress.

It depends on mood, and patient population.

I do wear white, and I have found that my geriatric folks respond very well to it, because even when they're pretty dim they know I'm a nurse. Add a skirt to the mix and you have instant respect.

I am replying because I am getting into the nursing field and I only wear skirts. I can do anything in a skirt while being modest, not showing anything I wear a skirt that is mid calf or lower.....I guess you can call it a 'religious purpose'

I'm Apostolic and wear skirts all the time. It has never impeded my work in any way. As a previous poster mentioned, as long as the hemline and cut are appropriate, there is no interference. I find it a lot more appropriate than the number of young ladies I see at work with significant underwear (or lack thereof) showing each time they lean over.

I can't imagine wearing a skirt in a job with as much stooping, bending, crouching, etc. as I do. But I've always been a tomboy and don't really wear skirts outside of work very often anyway :)
